Meet the Team
Hi, I’m Chrissie
Christine Shanahan is the co-founder of Encouraging Narratives, an author, mother, and intuitive healer. Christine is a certified Ho’oponopono Practitioner, Access Bars Practitioner and mentored under internationally-recognized psychic medium MaryAnn DiMarco.
She wrote her debut children’s book, Angel Winks, to help children find comfort in the signs of love that surround them.
Christine understands the power of storytelling in guiding children through life’s transitions. She has created social stories for over 7 years to support parents and caregivers in fostering confidence, imagination, and emotional growth in young minds.
Christine lives in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, five children, and two Labradors.

Lucy Mara Budd is the co-founder of Encouraging Narratives, an illustrator, and mother with nearly two decades of experience bringing stories to life through art.
Passionate about crafting books that inspire and delight, she finds magic in the everyday and translates it into illustrations that invite children and parents alike into worlds of wonder. Her work blends feelings, colors, and emotions to create immersive experiences that leave a lasting sense of warmth and joy.
Lucy lives in a Chicago suburb with her husband and their two children.

Hi, I’m Molly
With over 40 years as a graphic designer and 25 as an art director, I’ve gathered a lifetime of experience — both professionally and as a mom to two incredible daughters, Lucy (our illustrator) and Ellyn.
When they were young, our home buzzed with creativity: murals on bedroom walls, backyard plays, social clubs, and babysitting camps. As a single mom, I leaned on my community and my ever-present mother to create a warm, supportive space for them to grow.
Now, I’m proud to be part of this incredible team — sharing stories and experiences that help families raise grounded, creative kids. It’s a joy to contribute as a grandma and to be building something meaningful together.
