From the Page to the Bookstore
Hello!
We’re getting ready for our first book launch! Chrissie, the author, and Lucy, the illustrator, will be signing copies of Angel Winks at Swallow Stories Bookstore, a sweet little shop in Lisle, Illinois.
It’s a Tuesday afternoon, just two hours long, and we have no idea how many people will show up. But that doesn’t matter, we’re simply thrilled to be taking this step. Angel Winks turned out so beautifully and seeing it move out into the world feels like something to celebrate all on its own.
The reviews people have shared so far have been more encouraging than I could have dreamed. Here are a couple that touched me deeply.

“This book is absolutely STUNNING!!! The illustrations are beautiful and the story is so sweet. Try not to cry. This book is excellent for teaching and encouraging children (and adults) about death and love. Our loved ones never really leave us. They send us signs and will always love us even after they leave the earth. And it shows kids how to recognize those signs sent by our loved ones. I loved this book! This will be a must-have for children AND adults experiencing a loss.”

“This one really surprised me! Despite the title, it is spiritual without being religious. I appreciate the message that our loved ones never leave us and continue to guide us on our journeys. The art style is unlike anything I’ve ever seen before. It’s beautiful and ethereal and vibrant. I can see this being a book where you find a new detail every time you flip through the pages. I think this book would be a great resource to begin discussions with kids dealing with grief and loss. I would absolutely purchase this or recommend it for a library collection.”

Reading feedback like this reminds us that people want to feel uplifted and connected, not just to each other, but to something larger than themselves. I’m so proud of these women and of what we’re building together. This feels like the opening chapter of a much larger story.
We’ll share photos of the signing in our next blog. I have a feeling the day will be beautiful, no matter the turnout. Either way, it’s a milestone we’ll never forget.
What amazes me most is how far the reach has already grown. People across the country are buying Angel Winks, writing to us and letting us know that what we’re doing matters. It changes something inside you. The world feels brighter and the possibilities bigger. It affirms that bringing more positive, joyful stories into the world is the right work for us to be doing.
Here’s to small beginnings and big dreams.
Thanks my friend!
Molly
