Affirmations
When I was a teen, growing through challenges, my Grandma Nancy would tell me this. She would say “When you wake up in the morning, you look at yourself in the mirror and say out loud: I am beautiful. I am a good person.”
Especially on the hard days, I would hear these phrases in her voice and the words would give me the courage I needed to start the day. Over time, I became confident and the words came in my own voice.
Imagine giving children the foundation to believe in themselves. To love themselves as much as we love them.
Instead of using a mirror, Encouraging Narratives has designed a picture card along with three affirmations that can become a daily mantra. It can be printed placed on a nightstand to read first thing in the morning or before falling asleep. Another idea would be to make it a screensaver on a digital device.
Practicing daily affirmations can help overcome fear, reframe negative self talk and create a positive mindset. They help us believe in ourselves and what we are capable of achieving. We keep it short and sweet so that it is easy to remember.
Different sets of affirmations can be used as individuals grow. Once a mantra is mastered, find another set to plant different seeds to grow. There will be a beautiful garden of self belief that has blossomed as they enter adulthood.
You can order a personalized affirmation card here. Choose one of three different backgrounds, upload a photo and choose three affirmations from our library that are best suited for this individual.
As one of my mentors has always said: Thoughts become things.
In love and light,
